Footwell Drain Holes | Not Drilling Yet!

I originally intended to drill all the drain holes at the same time, but in the end I refrained from making the footwell drain holes for fear of damaging the transom, which I intend to varnish.

If it is going to have a bright finish it cannot carry scars!

I had obtained a 20mm wood drill bit to do the job. Here it is in the big cordless drill.

But when I drilled test holes in some scrap ply of the same thickness as the transom it tore out some wood on both sides of the hole.

So I will leave that task for now. I will probably drill a smaller pilot hole and ream it out to 20mm.
